Alyson said, "Today at Community I went to Maddie and Maddie's job is the school.  All she really said to me is 'Write number sentences and draw pictures' and the number sentences were 100+100=200 and lots more like that.  Justin's gas station kept going on fire and I had to keep putting the fire out and Jayden went with me and the bank went on fire too."

Jayden added, "Today at art I made a frog puppet and it had a cape, legs, dots, eyes and a tongue and a  mouth.  The tongue had a fly on it."

Boris stated, "All day I played cello, had lunch, played cello and played cello and then played outside.  There were middle schoolers and there was one song called Hunter's Chorus that everybody played.  Jon, Fred's big brother, is in middle school and he played bass."

Jayden added, "Today we picked our jobs for our community.  I'm applying for Town Manger and I wrote I would be the best person for the job because I would care for the town, give people jobs, help people find houses and build new roads.  I  hope I get the job."

Special Requests
1. We are starting to build our imaginative community in our classroom.  Students are allowed to build a house at home!  It should be no bigger than a 'boot box'.  Use any recycled matreials to decorate or make your house!  If you have extra materials, send them to school so we can make extra houses here.
2.  We are going to be presenting reader's theater next Friday afternoon at 2:15PM. Parents are invited to attend and to have a snack with us after if they would like/can!  We will also be taping it and a copy will be put on our blog (hopefully) if you can't attend.  The following items are needed for our costumes: 

• farmer hat
• space suit/helmet
• lab coats
• pretend oranges and potatoes
• tickets
• 3-D glasses

Ryan said, "Today at gym we played volleyball.  My partner was Renee and I was hitting the ball really hard and she couldn't even catch it!"

Renee stated, "Today we did communities and we started off sitting on the rug and Mrs. LeFevre made roads and we made jobs we might be able to do.  I think I  might be the pound  owner."

Maddie stated, "Today it was Young Author's Day and the author, Sandra Horning, came in and read us The Giant Hug.  At the end of the day since it was Young Author's Day the PTA bought everyone a book and for the second graders they bought, The Summer Vacation From the Black Lagoon."

Trystan added, "In the book from the PTA on page 23 it says that the character can't be a doctor and in the speech bubble the patient says,  "It hurts when I cough," and the doctor says, "Don't cough!" That's why he can't be a doctor:)."

Despina said, "Today at science we did K'Nex and I was partners with Ryan and we made a house, scissors, a screwdriver and a fishing rod."

Allie exclaimed, "Today in the morning we  had our Pen Pal Picnic and my pen pal was Morgan!  At the end we exchanged phone numbers and we took a piece of paper bag and ripped it and took a Sharpie and gave each other our phone numbers."

Al added, "At our Pen Pal Picnic Boris, Nate, Coby and I and knew everyone except our pen pals.  I knew Boris's pen pal and Boris new my pen pal and Boris and I knew each other but we didn't know our pen pals."

Fred said, "Today at the end of the day we went to the play the Fighting Frogs of Windham and the frogs were telling the story and the people were acting it on the stage.  I thought they did pretty good."

Alex H. stated, "Today we got a Mystery Reward and it's Dress Up Day and I'm probably not going to put on a dress on Dress Up Day! :) "

Isabella exclaimed, "On our field trip it was really, really hot!  My group went to a lot of places.  We went to a place where  you could go in a house and see what it looked like.  The man's house we went into was an important person.  We saw his bed and I think he had a son or daughter because we saw a kid bed.  We had a lot of fun and I got my hair wet!

Alyson added, "Today on the field trip to Sturbridge Village our class was split up into groups.  I was with Maddie's mom, Justin's mom, Allie's mom and Renee's mom.  We went to see if the park was open and there  was a sign that said, No School Groups."

Trystan said, "Today at gym Al and I were partners and we were throwing frisbees and I caught the frisbee once and Al caught it 3 times.  There was a pin we had to knock over and I knocked it over twice and Al knocked it over twice."

Jayden added, "Today at math I did Handful of Treasure.  Trystan and I played and I got confused and Trystan put all the glass blobs together so we had to count out 90 again."

Katrina said, "Today at Writer's Workshop I was working on my book and I just need to illustrate it with color.  In my story from the writing prompt I was pretending because my aunt doesn't really have a farm but I said that I heard a noise and then I heard it again and I saw it and it was a monkey in her barn."

Jayden stated, "Today at gym we played lacrosse at the kickball field and Trystan accidentally kicked me in the head and then I got him out.  I was the one who usually got people out at first base."

Al stated, "Today at math we played a game called Make 100! Over or Under?  Both times my team won."


Allie exclaimed, "Today at Must Do's we had a science experiment and we took a little bit of cream and put it in a jar and  Mrs. LeFevre timed us and we had to shake the cream in the jar.  Mrs. LeFevre timed herself and she used a blender and mixed the cream and we made a prediction in our booklets.  It took us 8  minutes and Mrs. LeFevre 6 minutes and it got thicker and turned into butter.  We added a pinch of salt and we had butter on crackers.  We learned that it takes a  shorter time with simple machines than just our own force.  They made simple machines to make your work easier!"

Boris stated, "Today at Writer's Workshop I wrote a book with 2 sides.  One is called A Trip to Russia and the other A Trip to Texas.  I just wrote the Texas one and I had a monster in it and the monster had boots with a star on them and he really looked like a monster because he had horns."

Katrina said, "Today at recess I went on the monkey bars with Sedona and Renee  was there too.  She was going from one side to the other and Sedona and I were getting on the same side over and over again because we all switched sides.  It really stretches out your arms."

Daisy said, "Today at Work Places Ryan, Al, Katrina and I were doing Work Place D.  Katrina and I were doing base ten sticks and the last one we used the box of magic clay sticks.  I put in all the base ten sticks and the roll of clay was heavier than the base ten sticks."

Katrina stated, "Today outside I played on the monkey bars and I fell off one time when I was going across.  Then I was jumping to the third bar and I bumped my head on the second bar and it hurt."

Madison said, "Today at gym Maddie followed me everywhere and we tried  not to fall off the Trestle Tree and Mr. Lunski had a light saber and he challenged us for a fight and we had to step under or over it.  The lights were off."

Renee exclaimed, "On Tuesday Madison is moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Some people are sad but we wish her good luck!"

Madison said, "Today at our assembly there were 2 Super Citizens from our class and I was one of them and Trystan was one of them.  They put my certificate in the wrong folder so they are going to announce me at the end of the day on the speaker phone."

Trystan said, "Today after the assembly we had physical education.  By the time we were done with the assembly our physical education time was done."

Allie exclaimed, "Today at our read aloud we started a new book called Donovan's Word Jar.  When I heard the title I made a connection!  Just a couple weeks ago I heard that  the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback's name was Donovan!"

Maddie added, "Today at art we made animals with fire clay and I made 2 owls and I wanted to make them because our school's mascots are owls.  It was really hard to  make because the wings weren't exactly the same length and size."

Al exclaimed, "In gym we did the trestle tree and we played a game and we did it one way and then the opposite way.  Then we played another game, so we played 3 games and it was pretty easy!"

Katrina stated, "Today in math we did problems.  Mine was 4big boxes of 10 presents and add 7 more presents.  I'm not going to tell my answer.  My problem was about Malia and my birthday party and we were  both turning 8."

Daisy said, "Today at gym we did the trestle tree and we had beanbags and if we dropped them on the floor we would have to try and get them without touching the floor.  It wasn't hard."

Al said, "Today in read aloud we read George's Marvelous Medicine and the chapter was George's Marvelous Medicine Number Three and the last 2 chapters are George's Marvelous Medicine Number Four and Good-bye Grandma.  I think that the medicine is  going to make another part of the  body grow because the neck is already 6 feet tall on the rooster and the legs on a chicken are 15 feet tall."

Justin said, "Today in computer we went on a website called  www.factmonster.com  and today we did number sentences.

Fred added, "Today at library, Mrs. Parda showed us how to find a book on the computer."

Alex exclaimed, "In the morning the question of the day was: Which Dr. Seuss book has Pam the Clam and Quincy Queek?  A second after Mrs. Parda said it was hard, we knew the answer!  I had already read the book at least ten times!"

Katrina stated, "Today for Writer's Workshop, I finished my book and I started to color in the pictures.  I only got up to page 3."

Boris exclaimed, "Today in physical education we went on the Tower of Power and I only got to 3 Tower of Powers.  Two was the skinniest rope and the other one was the Tower of Power with the knots.  I also went to the Multi-Vines and Despina was cheering me on and I wasn't that frightened!"

Trystan said, "Today we glued on our cloud reports with our partners.  My partner was Jayden."

Boris said, "Today at physical education I went on the Tower of  Power and I climbed over the whole thing and it was about 10 or 11 feet and I said to myself...don't look down, don't look down.  The Verma Loops were hoops and you had to climb on it and stretch out your legs or you could go on the bottom and swing to the top."

Mrs. LeFevre added, "We saw a teaser of the show Annie today that the Middle School is performing and it looked terrific!  The actors and actresses did an amazing job!"

Katrina said, "Today at lunch and recess I played with Daisy.  We were on the tire swing.  I was laying down and relaxing with half of my body in the hole and Daisy was pushing me so slow I wouldn't get sick.  Then we played on the monkey bars and I taught her how to jump to the second bar."

Daisy added, "Today at art we made our collages of fairy tales and I made the 3 little pigs."

Alyson said, "Today at gym we did half of the trestle tree and we got to climb a rope and I climbed all the way to the first line of the rope and I did 4 rolls in the egg roll and 4 rolls in the pencil roll on the downward mat.  We jumped off the stage onto mats."

Boris said, "Today we had Must-Do's and one was Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and I wrote a paper and it said: Cloudy with a chance of pepperoni pizza and cheese pizza that fell on an aquarium.  Everybody was very scared because the sharks and stingrays were eating the whole pizzas."
