Thursday's News

Scout said, "Today at Number Corner we played Race You to 400. My group won."

Emma stated, "Today at the computer lab we did end of the year things we liked about first grade and I said 'One great thing about first grade was my lovely art teacher Mrs. Gilmore.'  I didn't say this but I wanted to, she teaches us art in first grade and in second grade she teaches us to draw a snake and put dots around it."

Tuesday's News

Evan said, "Today we shared our published books.  I shared it with Will in Ms. Sparks's class.  Will's book was all about 4 new friends."

Kenney stated, "At P.E.  we did a frisbee game.  We tried to do the least amount of throwing to hit a cone or a hoop.  I won the most games in my group."

Friday's News

Matthew said, "For art we did a self portrait last time but this art we added details to our portrait by drawing them and cutting them out and then gluing them on another piece of paper that was colored."

Kenney said, "Today we had a big clean up.  Everyone had a job to do and after that we did our blog."

Friday's News

Abby stated, "Today we had art and we got our papers from the Creative Galaxy.  One of them was called The Moon of Lines and we made ourselves on a paper and we went on to the rug to tell people our favorite planet."

Gabe said, "Today we did our seed journal and mine didn't grow the last time we looked but then when I looked at my seed today it grew a lot.  I saw that my seed cracked open."

Thursday's News

Rosie announced, "At recess Clara and I played with Clara's doll McKenna.  We made rings for us out of flowers and we were walking around putting more and more flowers on us."

Scout stated, "Today at the assembly we watched a video of 95210 and  one of the boys made up a story and he saw 2 puppies drinking tea with way too much sugar and they asked him if he wanted tea and he said, 'No way, I want my water.' Then the Tooth Fairy came and she was exhausted from getting all the dirty teeth and she told the dogs that too much sugar makes you have cavities.  There was also Outstanding Owls at the assembly and there were 3 people in our class that were owls."

Wednesday's News

Alexander stated, "At P.E. we got to play outside and  our choices were
lacrosse or frisbees.  Jeremy, Gabe, Alizabeth and I played lacrosse but we changed it kind of and we played Battleship and if we got hit with a ball we would be on the other person's team. I was  on Jeremy's team and Gabe was on Alizabeth's team."

Jeremy announced, "Today at Math Workplaces Mathew, Evan, Gabe and I played Zani Lingo and we all had privacy shields so at the end of the game everyone would show thier boards and they would see.  Everybody most times shouted out Zani Lingo and at the end everyone jumped up and did a funky dance and shouted Zani Lingo."

Tuesday's News

Alizabeth said, "For Must Do's we had two papers we had to do.  The first one was our Word Boxes and sentences the second one was a math paper.  After that we had to read one book and then go to centers.  Alix and I went to the Writing Center.  We wrote a book about animals."

Joey announced, "Today at math we did a game that our friends sent to us and Mrs. LeFevre told us to do it.  It was fun and on the back of it and on the back of it we had to write ideas about  the game."

Monday's News

Clara stated, "At Writer's Workshop I published another book about when my mom went to Belguim.  It talked about how when she was gone I played Sorry! and I played with sme friends."

Alizabeth said, "On our Weekend News I wrote about Mother's Day.  I said that my dad,  my brother Josh and I went out for ice cream and we were close to the dinousaur place."

Friday's News

Emma said, "I got ready for Mother's Day today.  I also did a drill in the afternoon and the drill was about if there was gas leak in the cafeteria and what we did was went outside and we sat down and were quiet for a little bit.  We also did other drills in the past."

Esme stated, "At Writer's Workshop I am really close to getting a book published, I just have to work on my ending and adding some more details."

Thursday's News

Evan stated, "We went the greenhouse.  We put soil in 3 containers and then we put lima bean seeds in the cups to plant them.  We also weighed potatoes and mine was 59 teddy bears.  Potatoes are also called tubers."

Matthew announced, "At Number Corner we played Race You to 400.  Mrs. LeFevre won.  We were so close, we were only 5 away from winning."

Wednesday's News

Kenney stated, "Today we had Writer's Workshop.  I wrote an informational book about vehicles and I read it to the class and Esme read one too."

Alix said, "During P.E. we did soccer.  We couldn't pass the line to the other line, we had to get goals in the other teams goal."

Friday's News

Gabe announced, "We had Sharing and I shared about having a birthday with Jeremy.  I said only Jeremy could come to my birthday and people were disappointed.  I wanted more people to come but my mom said I could only invite one person."

Joey stated, "In math today we did folding papers for our math friends, Imi and Zani.  We helped them make shape cards for a game."

Wednesday's News

Abby stated, "We went to the gym and I played volleyball and we had a big huge ball and it was boys vs. girls.  We had to do it all together to get it on the other side of the net.  We all made a big huge tower out of different types of cones  but the boys knocked it over but not with the frisbees."

Alizabeth announced, "For math we did a game called Lingo.  It's not like Number Bingo, it's Shape Bingo and it is when you have to get 4 in a line even though it shows 5."
