Ava said, "Today was indoor recess and we watched the rest of one movie and watched half of another movie."

Anthony said, "We wrapped presents today and we had an assembly."

Tuesday's News

Taylor said, "We made our snowflakes and we put our pictures in the middle and decorated them after that.  We put glitter on them."

Declan said, "Mrs. Tinnel came and she read us the Little Red Elf and the elf did all the work to put the Christmas tree into the stand.  The other animals wanted to open the presents and she didn't want them to because she did all that work."

Colten said, "Today It was my birthday and Sam and I went down the hall delivering ginger snaps and applesauce with whip cream and sprinkles."

Colten said, "Today we went to gym and played a game. I played with Louis, Aiden, Declan, Taylor, Symarie and Sam. We played basketball."

Aiden said, "I was sharing about 4 of my guys from my video game and they light up to."

David said, "In Los Posadas it is a time for gifts. It starts on December 16th."

Sofia said, "We made sweet rolls and we had a movie and our treat for the movie was sweet rolls.  They were shaped like an S and the bottom and the top were curled up and the icing was pretty sweet!"

Ben said, "In art we landed on another planet and there were pop out 3D aliens on the planet.  We got to make our own aliens with clay."

Jayson said, "We played Flash Attack and Mrs. LeFevre hid the beads and then she showed it and left one on the side and it made 9."

Louis said, "We made wreaths with candles to get ready for St. Lucia Day tomorrow."

Hunter said, "We made our own bells out of paper. It went along with a poem we read."

Symarie said, "We played Tower Race and we had to roll the dice and we had to fill the little boxes up until all the towers were filled."

Samantha said, "We had an assembly today and some guys came and played Jazz music. They played Mary Had a Little Lamb and America the Beautiful."

Jadyn said, "We read Me on the Map and when we read in the book she showed us from her room to the Earth."

Louis said, "We learned about St. Nicholas and we made shoes. He leaves toys and food for the kids."

Ava said, "Today we learned about doubles and odd numbers can't have doubles but even numbers can have doubles."

Jayden said, "We went to Mrs. Frascarelli's room an sang songs about Hanukkah."

Aiden said, "We were reading about a hermit crab moving into a different shell that was perfect and he was decorating his shell with underwater sea things."

Anthony and Ben said, "Mrs. Tinell came over and she read us a story where you had to look closely at each picture and there was something special on each page."

Jessica said, "We went to gym and played basketball. We shot at hoops and dribbled."

Sofia said, "We learned about Hanukkah and we learned how to play dreidel. We made a menorah and we used our hands as the candles and overlapped our thumbs for the middle candle."

David said, "Today we went to gym and played basketball but before that you had to do 4 laps while dribbling your basketball."

Declan said, "We played a game in math and there was a 100 chart and you had to spin a dime, a penny, a nickel and a penny, 3 pennies, a nickel and 2 pennies or a penny and a nickel."

Colten said, "Today we had a short day like yesterday and we only did everything in the morning and only some in the afternoon. Now we are doing end of the day read aloud and blog."

Taylor said, "We had a short day today and we started making our costumes for our 1st grade Thanksgiving Feast."

Ava said, "Today we had a short day and we did Word Boxes at the end of the day and the words were: take, on, him, some and put."

Taylor said, "We went to our feast today and had turkey that was good! We also sang a song with everybody."

Ava said, "Today we played a game with only pennies on the game board but pennies and nickels on the spinner. After we did math problems and there was a challenge with tens."

Thursday's News

Hunter said, "Sea stars have stomachs that pop out to eat the food. It releases the acid that kills the mussel and then it's stomach goes back in."

Ava said, "Today we wrote on the Smartboard things we noticed about our quilt. There is a chart next to it that counts by 5's. The quilt only goes up to 75 arms but what the chart goes up to 100."

Wednesday's News

Ben said, "We made a sea star quilt with sea stars and we are learning about sea stars. When they are hungry they pop their belly out of their mouth and then eat their food and pull their stomach back through their mouth."

Declan said, "We went to gym and we played scooters. There was scooter hockey, scooter frisbee, scooter basketball, scooter football, scooter lacrosse and scooter soccer."

Aiden said, "At gym we were doing all this scooter stuff like hockey, frisbee, basketball and lacrosse."

Samantha said, "We made letters to teachers for Thanksgiving. It was for our teachers last year and other people that work at Vinton."

Colten said, "Today we went to art and made another creative galaxy out of shapes. When I was done I made a bag out of paper."

Louis said, "We went on a fall walk and we stomped on the crunchy leaves.  Then we made new fall pictures to put in our class big books."

Thursday's News

 Jayson said, "We colored our clocks in all the way to 6. It was colored half."

Symarie and Aiden said, "We went to the library and watched a movie about a dog named Harry and he didn't like the sweatshirt with the roses his grandma gave him for his birthday ."

Mrs. LeFevre said, "Today our class wrote our own definition of the word family:
A family is a group of people that are related.  They help, teach and love each other.  They play, celebrate and work together."

Hunter said, "We had new things at gym today.  There were plungers on sticks and they turn inside out and stick on the floor and we had to unstick them and turn them around.  Aiden was our new student today!"

Sofia said, "We made 2 birthday books, one was for Aiden and one was for Ava.  We made trees and if you had no siblings at this school you had to put all 5 apples on it and if you had 1 sibling at this school you had to put 4 apples and if you had more than 1 sibling at this school you only put 3."

Friday's News

Colten said, "Today we went to art and made lines on the moon and we also made necklaces."

Jadyn said, "We had free choice because  we got our star chart filled.  We played Tic Tac Toe."

Samantha said, "We are off on Monday because it is Veteran's Day. We learned it is a day off for people who might have fought in a war and if they were in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or Marines. There is a parade for them to say Thank You for helping our country."

Wednesday's News

 Jessica said, "We went to gym and we got to ride scooters and do different stuff with them like connect them and pull people on the scooters.  We got to pull on ropes and got to play hockey on scooters."

Declan said, "We went in our journals and wrote about stuff we could do sometime and a lot of people did stuff that they've never done before and I know because I was looking."

Taylor said, "We went to gym and got to connect the scooters and roll around kids. My partners went fast and we went around the gym and it was fun."

Ben said, "Today was Hunter's birthday and we had cupcakes for snack and we made a book for him. We wrote what we pretended we got him and we learned a new song called The Birthday Cheer."

Ava said, "Symarie told us about her pumpkin and then we had to draw it and then she showed it to us and Declan got it right."

Ava said, "Today we wrote about our field trip to the Children's Museum and how we did and didn't like it.  We wrote about what we learned too and also we said if our friends should go or  not.  I said they should go because they would like the bean bag place."

Jessica said, "We counted the seeds in our pumpkin and there were 490 seeds!  That is a lot of seeds!  I thought there was going to be a thousand."

Louis said, "We went to gym and we have a new activity. You have to go up on the stage and run and come back.  We did Bingo in music today and when you get 4 in a row you get a sticker."

Sofia said, "We estimated how long our pumpkin is around and how many seeds are in our pumpkin. Tomorrow we are going to count the seeds. We did measure around our pumpkin and it is 32 inches around."
